I Draw

Hi All,

This new year has brought a new talent in me and that is drawing and painting on paper. Yes. You must be wondering that I already draw then how is it new...well the medium and tools are the new part. I just joined a new class for drawing and water color painting which I am enjoying more as I'm growing with it.

In the first class we learnt how to see something beyond what your eyes perceive.

Seeing this scribble above you must be wondering "??????" Well it is supposed to be my shoes. Yes, SHOES.

We were told to just see the shoe and not the paper and go with its outline and move your hand as you move your eyes on the shoe. Oh, I loved it that I'm looking at the shoe but when I saw what I drew it was something different which is perceived differently by every individual. Some see the details, some see new shapes and you get new ideas too.

Loving the new drawing class.

Festive Mirror Painting

Hi Friends,


Here is my treat to your sore eyes.

Like it?!!


I loved making this piece and it required me to be patient. 


Had to remove the silver lining of mirror to make it clear glass on which I can dance my love. 


I started making it with 2-3 colors but the festive mood took over me and made me add these beautiful colors. I did the outline with red and filled the lighter shades of pink, green, orange and yellow and the background of gold was the cherry on cake. 


I have used oil paints for the opaque effect.

Vase Painting

Long time no painting!!!

Well here it is. I had a plain glass vase that inspired me to paint it with a mehndi (henna) design.
Have painted a glass after a long break.

I have painted it with oil paints from the inside. It was a good challenge for my wrist.

Set of 3 Bowls

Hi,

My recent project is a triplet of small bowls.

 Learned to trim a foot on the bowls.

Gave my first carvings on these pieces.

My guide helped me get the right effect I wanted with this beautiful purple color.

And after all the hard work, I am happy to see the beautiful outcome.

Have handled different types of clay from soft to hard ones. Some more pieces are to come out of the firing soon.

Flower Vase

Hi Friends,
You must be wondering long time no see. Well art takes its time.

This time I have come with few of my Ceramic pieces.

The first one is a Hand Build Vase. This is my first hand built piece which came out quiet nice..what say?

                                                     

You guys must be wondering where am I learning all this from. I have joined RAC's (Richmond Art Center) Ceramic classes, a very nice group trying to reach the community and encourage people to enhance the artist in them.

This month I have worked on few more pieces on wheel which you'll be able to see shortly.

Introduction

I have been doing GLASS PAINTING for a few years. I love painting with glass paints

 and oil paints on glass.

A year back a very talented friend taught me TANJORE PAINTING. I have made one till date but looking forward to making more pieces.

We have all played with clay in childhood but I revisited it and fell in love with it. I am on my way to learn all the aspects of CLAY ART - HAND-BUILDING;

 and POTTERY (WHEEL THROWING).
Here are my baby steps towards it.
